Real Estate Avila Beach California

Real Estate Avila Beach

Avila Beach Real Estate is found along California’s scenic Pacific Coastline and is the perfect little beach town if you’re looking for Central Coast Real Estate.   Vacation at Avila Beach and you may end up staying for the relaxing, tranquil setting and easy-going life style.

Beautiful Avila Beach is well known for being a warm beach sheltered from wind by the magnificent surrounding hills that wrap around the bay, perfect for sunbathing, volleyball, or having fun playing at the park.  On the pier you can fish, dine at your favorite restaurant, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll.   The ocean provides activities such as kayaking and whale watching.  Beyond the beach there are numerous hiking trails and bike trails, including the frequently used Bob Jones Trail.

Along the beach are three piers, the first being Avila Beach Pier which is perfect for strolling and recreational fishing.

The second pier is the California Polytechnic State University Pier, which was donated by Unocal in 2001 for the marine research program at Cal Poly, but is not publicly accessible.

The third pier is Harford Pier, also known as Port San Luis Pier, constructed in 1873 for shipping into San Luis Obispo.  The pier is used for commercial fishing boats and is home to a few restaurants.   At the end of the pier is Olde Port Inn, a restaurant serving fantastic seafood with huge windows which allow you to watch the ocean and its sea life while you dine.  Almost to the end of the pier is Pete’s Pierside Café & and Fish Market, which also serves delicious seafood.  Driving is allowed on the pier, but there is limited parking available.

Beyond the beach in the beautiful mountains, See Canyon Road is a fabulous drive down into a canyon known for its extensive apple orchards and fruit ranches, including Gopher Glen’s Apple Farm and the See Canyon Fruit Ranch.

The Avila Valley Barn is another wonderful place to stop located along Avila Beach Drive.  Avila Valley Barn has fresh fruits and vegetables, ice cream, baked goods and gifts, not to mention a petting zoo for the kids.

Part of Avila Beach’s history is the Point San Luis Lighthouse, which was built in 1889.   Although the lighthouse is no longer being used to shine the beacon as the Fresnel lens was removed and an aerobeacon has been set on a tower adjacent to the lighthouse, tours are still being led to see the historic site.  Access to the Lighthouse is by trolley, van or by guided hikes.

Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort has guest rooms and suites each with a private outdoor tub filled with sulfur mineral spring water.   The Gardens of Avila Restaurant at the Sycamore Minerals Springs has artfully prepared contemporary coastal cuisine in a very romantic setting for that extra special get-a-way or a simply relaxing weekend.

Fat Cat’s Café is located in the Port San Luis Harbor and has excellent seafood, chicken, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and chowder, to simply name a few of the menu items and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Custom House Restaurant was established in 1975 and rebuilt in 2002.   Their menu offers seafood, steak, salads, pasta, and many other delectable items.

Avila Beach Golf Resort is an 18-hole, 6500-yard championship caliber golf course with meticulous fairways and putting greens.   After a game of golf, stop for refreshments at Mulligan’s, the grill at Avila Beach Golf Resort.
